NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday extended the interim protection granted to two foreign journalists associated with Financial Times and two Indian scribes working with Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), who were summoned by Gujarat Police for writing articles on Adani Group.

The court was hearing two petitions — on by Benjamin Nicholas Brooke Parkin and Chloe Nina Cornish and another by journalists Ravi Nair and Anand Mangnale associated with OCCRP. They were summoned by Gujarat Police for the article published in the newspaper and a portal.
The petitioners submitted that the summons issued by the Ahmedabad crime branch were illegal. They alleged that it was a simple case of harassment. They also submitted that they exercised due diligence and reviewed the documents in accordance with good journalistic practices and also sought responses from the Adani Group before publishing the article.
