This week’s BARC TRP report is out. The new show ‘Zanak’ has quickly made its place in the list. Now the show is competing with long running shows like ‘Anupama’, ‘Gu Ma Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein’ and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’.
Let’s take a look at which shows were on top and which were lagging behind this week:
1. Incomparable
Serial ‘Anupama’ is at the top of the TRP list. Audience wants Anupama and Anuj to reunite once again. Due to the popularity of this track, Rajan Shahi’s show managed to remain at number one this week as well. The show received 2.3 million viewership impressions.
2. Parents
The show ‘Zanak’, which started almost five months ago, managed to impress the audience right from the start. The Hiba Nawab and Krishal Ahuja starrer is ruling the TRP charts. It is among the top three because of the unique story of the show. The show received 2.0 million viewership impressions.
3. ‘Gum Hai Kissi Ke Pyaar Mein
This week the show ‘Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein’ has seen a drop in TRPs compared to last week. The show starring Shakti Arora and Bhavika Sharma came in third. The show received 1.9 million viewership impressions.
Let us tell you that last week the rating of the show was 2.3 million viewership impressions.
4. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’
Samriddhi Shukla and Rohit Purohit starrer ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ is fourth on the TRP chart. The show received 1.8 million viewership impressions.
5. Shiva Shakti – Tapa Tyaga Tandav
Viewers love ‘Shiva Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav’. The show is number five. This time the show got 1.6 million viewership impressions. Recently the entry of Lord Shani has been seen in the show. Due to which the show has become more interesting.
How does BARC check TRP?
The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) estimates TRPs across TV channels by taking data from thousands of frequencies. This agency uses a special gadget to measure TRP. Barometers have been installed at some places to measure TRP. This barometer uses specific frequencies to find out which program or channel is watched the most and how often.
This meter sends TV data every minute to the monitoring agency. The team analyzes the data from the barometer and determines the TRP of a channel or programme. The most popular channels are listed according to Television Rating Points (TRP) and then the data of Top 10 TRP TV Serials, TV News Channels is released on weekly or monthly basis.
How important is TRP?
TRP is very important for advertisers because, it helps advertisers to easily know on which channel their products or services will get maximum benefit through advertisement. Every advertiser prefers to advertise on the channel with highest TRP.
