The film ‘Mohabbatein’ directed by Aditya Chopra was one of the super hit films of that time. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Jugal Hansraj, Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergill, Shamita Shetty, Kim Sharma and Preity Zangiani. It is worth mentioning here that initially his casting was different. ‘Mohabbatein’ stars Kim Sharma as Sanjana and Shamita Shetty as Ishika Dhanrajgir.
Karisma Kapoor and Kajol were to be cast in this film instead of Shamita Shetty and Kim Sharma. But due to some reasons both of them refused to do this film. Shamita Shetty and Kim Sharma were eventually cast in their place.

Shah Rukh Khan’s name in the film is Aryan Malhotra. The name is believed to be inspired by his son Aryan. Mithun Chakraborty also had a small role in the film, but his role had to be removed later due to the length of the film.
Sridevi was to play the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s wife
Earlier, the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s wife was also going to be shown in this film. Late actress Sridevi was also approached for this, but later this scene was removed from the film. Due to this reason, Sridavi could not be a part of this film.
Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film was made on a budget of Rs 13 crore, which made a box office collection of Rs 90 crore.
