RAJAHMUNDRY: In a tragic incident that took place in Konaseema districtthree students were drowned to death on Saturday. One person survived by swimming to shore safely.
Sabbella Easwar Reddy(20) belongs to Ravula Palm who is studying B.Tech, Penta Jaya Kumar (17) belongs to Ravula Palem who is studying Degree and Sathi Sampath Reddy(16) belongs to Vizianagaram who completed class 10 along with two other boys went to take bath in Gouthami branch of river Godavari near Ravula Palem in Konaseema district.Unable to gauge the depth of the river, three students were washed away due to strong current.
Kommarthi Rajesh who did also take bath returned to the bank after suspecting bog in the farther waters. He said that he has also warned his friends of quagmire in the river, but in vain. Another stundet sabbella Satyannarana Reddy stayed back on the bank as he could not swim. The bodies of Easwar Reddy and Jaya Kumar were retrieved from the river and the police along with swimmers are searching for another person. Ravula Palem Inspector Anjaneyulu is investigating the case.
