There are only two league matches left in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, though the outcome of these two league matches will have no impact on the Super-8 schedule. Eight teams have qualified for the Super-8, while the remaining 12 have been eliminated. India have also reached the Super-8 and are scheduled to play their first Super-8 match against Afghanistan on June 20 in Barbados. The Indian cricket team has arrived in Barbados and thoroughly enjoyed a day’s break ahead of the Super-8 match. Many Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal enjoyed beach volleyball while Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Yashaswi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh showed off their fitness by going shirtless.
However, Team India captain Rohit Sharma is not seen in this video. Virat Kohli has not scored runs in the first three matches, but the kind of frame of mind he is in, bodes well for Team India ahead of the Super-8. The Indian team was in a group with Pakistan, USA, Ireland and Canada in the T20 World Cup 2024. India and America qualified for the Super-8 from the group, while the remaining three teams were eliminated.
From Group-B, Australia and England reached the Super-8, while Scotland, Namibia and Oman were eliminated. From Group-C, Afghanistan and West Indies qualified for Super-8 and New Zealand, Uganda and Papua New Guinea were eliminated. As for Group-D, South Africa and Bangladesh made it to the Super-8 while Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal were eliminated. In the Super-8, England, South Africa, West Indies and America are in Group-2, while Australia, India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are in Group-1. India are scheduled to play against Afghanistan on June 20, Bangladesh on June 22 and Australia on June 24. In the Super-8, the top 2 teams from both the groups will enter the semi-finals.
