About 5 thousand laborers from Wagad area (Banswada-Dungarpur) of Rajasthan are working in Kuwait. This has had the greatest impact. Figures on how many laborers are forced to live on the streets have not been released, but the number is large. These people lived in these buildings because of the cheap rent.

Indian Embassy is just one kilometer away from Istiklal area. Some of the buildings (from which the workers were evacuated) are just 500 meters away from the Indian Embassy. However, no alternative arrangements have been made for the workers.
