As Jayson Tatum has evolved from promising young star to superstar to NBA champion, he’s leaned on his mother, Brandy Cole, every step of the way.

When the Celtics clinched the title Monday night, Tatum embraced Cole on the court in a full-circle moment.

Cole raised him as a single mother, and always encouraged him to dream big, and this was the culmination of all their hard work over the years.

The NBA posted a video on social media Sunday morning highlighting the bond between Tatum and Cole.

It begins with a picture of them from years ago, at which point someone asks Tatum: “What’s one thing you would say to this kid and his mom?”

“One day, it’s all going to be worth it,” Tatum replied.

The video then pans to Cole sharing what it would mean for Tatum and the Celtics to win a championship.

“It would mean everything,” Cole said. “It would kind of solidify everything he’s worked for and culminate everything that he’s been doing since he was that age, as a matter of fact. It’s one of his biggest dreams.”

Then comes the confetti, once the title is sealed, with the two of them screaming at each other in jubilation.

“What they (gonna) say now?” Cole yelled.

“What they (gonna) say now?” Tatum responded.

Tatum closed his eyes, dapped her up, then gave her a long, all-encompassing bearhug.

Tatum then tells her he loves her, and she says she loves him, too.

“I’m so proud of you,” Cole said.
