New Delhi. Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, it has seen constant changes. Twitter has been renamed to X. Now Musk has made another new announcement. The company said that it is going to remove likes and reposts from the users’ feed. Now only ‘view count’ will be visible on the users’ timeline. X user criticized this decision and said that it is ‘stupid’ and it will reduce people’s engagement.
Famous Axe handler Dogedesigner first posted that Axe is considering removing like and repost counts from the feed.
Musk responded that it was “definitely happening.” The idea did not go down well with X users. One user commented, “This will reduce engagement because people tend to engage with posts that they can see are getting a large number of likes.”
Another posted that ‘this would be extremely stupid and would reduce engagement a lot and achieve nothing.’ An X user suggested that Musk should add a ‘Dislike’. Musk recently announced that X users will soon have a feature that will allow their followers to see pinned posts.
In a post, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO said the feature will allow one pinned post every 48 hours. “There’s a change coming to our algorithm that will ensure all of your followers see your pinned posts,” the billionaire told his followers.
