New Delhi. Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing the online landscape and impacting the personal and professional lives of every internet user. OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Meta are some of the major tech giants competing to lead this new era of technology. After the battle for dominance in the field of generative AI, the focus has now shifted to AI-powered search engines.
Now, OpenAI is testing the search engine everyone has been waiting for. It’s SearchGPT. This new tool will directly challenge Google’s dominance in the world of popular search services. OpenAI has announced that SearchGPT will incorporate information from business partners to improve search results and cite sources.
Google’s dominance has been maintained for years
This step has been taken at a time when Google, which has dominated the search market for years, is having difficulty keeping up with the rapid development of AI technology. This development started with the release of ChatGPT by OpenAI in November 2022. Apart from this, SearchGPT is also capable of competing with OpenAI based Microsoft’s Bing.
OpenAI has said that they are currently working on a prototype, which is temporary. We plan to integrate the best of these features directly into ChatGPT in the future.
In a statement on its website, the company said, ‘We are testing SearchGPT, a prototype of a new search feature designed to combine the power of our AI models with information from the web to give you fast and timely answers from clear and relevant sources. We are launching with a small group of users and publishers to get feedback. While this prototype is temporary, we plan to integrate the best of these features directly into ChatGPT in the future. If you are interested in trying out the prototype, you can sign up for the waitlist.
SearchGPT promises to answer users’ questions quickly and directly with up-to-date information from the web while giving you clear links to relevant sources. Apart from this, users will also be able to ask follow-up questions.
