New Delhi. The phase of upsets continues in the FIFA World Cup being held in Qatar. On Friday, in the Group H match, South Korea surprised everyone by defeating Cristiano Ronaldo’s team Portugal. The team secured its place in the knockout by winning the match 2-1. On the other hand, Uruguay’s team had to be out of the tournament even after a 2-0 win against Ghana. With this, its name has been included among big teams like Germany, Belgium and Denmark.
Portugal stunned by South Korea
Portugal’s team started off very well against South Korea and Ricardo Horta scored a goal in the fifth minute to put the team ahead. However, in the 27th minute, South Korea’s team got success in the counter attack. Kim Yong Gwon scored a goal and brought the score to 1-1. After the score remained equal, the match went into injury time and here Gol Hwang scored a goal and put the team ahead 2-1. This victory of the team cleared its way to the next round. Korea’s team managed to make it to the pre-quarterfinals for the first time since 2010.
