Its first example was seen when PM Modi invited Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu as a special guest in his swearing-in ceremony. And now PM Modi has even sent a congratulatory message to Muizzu on Bakrid.
Actually, last year, Muizzu’s government was formed in Maldives. Muizzu is considered to be a supporter of China. As soon as he came to power, Muizzu took several anti-India steps. Due to which the relations deteriorated. The withdrawal of Indian Army from Maldives and his comments on PM Modi’s Lakshadweep visit are some examples. Maldives has been a good neighbor of India before. Using Muizzu as an excuse, China wants to distance Maldives from India. This is the reason why it is constantly wooing Muizzu. Now Muizzu has also come under the influence of China and is putting relations with India at stake. But Muizzu is not understanding why China is wooing him.
China wants to dominate the Indian Ocean on the pretext of Maldives
China’s strategy has always been to surround India. China is using all kinds of tricks to dominate the Indian Ocean. First it drowned Sri Lanka by giving it loans. Then it used it to station its spy ship on the coast of Sri Lanka. This move of China was also to surround India. Now Sri Lanka’s economic condition is pathetic. Now China is using Maldives to surround India. However, Maldives is also not understanding this and is falling into China’s trap. Recently, China had stationed its spy ship on the coast of Maldives. After which there was a lot of uproar. However, China had argued that its ship had come here for research.
Why is Modi giving preference to Maldives
PM Modi is understanding every move of China. He knows that China’s conspiracy can be foiled only when relations with neighboring countries are good. That is why despite the strained relations with Maldives, he showed a big heart and gave a special invitation to the President of Maldives in his third swearing-in ceremony. Muizzu also came and tried to bring the derailed relationship with India back on track. And now PM Modi has congratulated him on Bakrid. It can be clearly understood from this strategy of PM Modi that he wants good relations with his neighboring country. And on the pretext of the neighboring country, PM Modi is trying to foil all the conspiracies of China.
