Moscow. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being given a warm welcome during his visit to Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed PM Modi at his official residence ‘Novo-Ogaryovo’ on Monday night. Here the Russian President first shook hands with PM Modi and then hugged him to express their old friendship. This was a kind of private meeting, in which he praised PM Modi a lot for the work done for the progress of India.
Russian government news agency ‘TASS’ has published a special report on this meeting between PM Modi and President Putin. It has been told that during this informal meeting at Putin’s home, the Russian President told PM Modi, ‘I want to congratulate you on being re-elected as Prime Minister. I think this is not a coincidence, but the result of your many years of work.’
President Putin praised PM Modi a lot
The Russian President said, ‘You have your own ideas. You are a very energetic person, who is able to achieve results in the interest of India and the Indian people.’ Putin said that Prime Minister Modi has devoted his entire life to serving his people and people can feel it.

During this meeting between the two heads of state over tea at the official residence outside Moscow, PM Modi recalled the recent elections in his country and said that the people of India have given him a chance to serve the motherland. To this, Putin said, ‘You have devoted your whole life to serving the Indian people and they can feel it.’ Then Prime Minister Modi smiled and said, ‘You are right, I have only one goal – my country and its people.’
PM Modi expressed gratitude to President Putin for the hospitality in Russia
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to President Putin for hosting him in Novo-Ogaryovo. He said, “I am also eagerly looking forward to our talks tomorrow, which will surely prove to be important in further strengthening the bonds of friendship between India and Russia.”

Earlier, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs wrote on ‘X’, ‘It was a meeting of two close friends and trusted partners.’ Sharing pictures of the meeting of the two leaders, the ministry said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at his official residence in Novo-Ogaryovo for a ‘private meeting’. It said that this is an occasion for the two leaders to celebrate India-Russia friendship.
Prime Minister Modi, who arrived here on his first visit to Russia after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, will hold summit talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. This visit is being seen as a sign of broader geopolitical context and context.
Soon after arriving in Moscow, Modi said he looked forward to further deepening bilateral partnership in future areas and that stronger ties between India and Russia would “greatly benefit our people”.
