Hamas said in a statement that it has shown ‘complete positivity’ in efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement with Israel. It has requested America to put pressure on Israel to accept a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
Hamas said that US officials are saying that Israel has accepted the ceasefire proposal brought by President Joe Biden on May 31. But we have not yet heard from any Israeli official that they have accepted this proposal. Hamas said in a statement, ‘They are talking about Israel’s consent to the latest ceasefire proposal, but we have not heard any Israeli official speak on this.’ Hamas urged US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to directly pressure Israel to agree to a permanent ceasefire.
Israel vows to destroy Hamas
Actually, Israel has vowed to destroy Hamas. On October 7, Hamas attacked Israel. Israel suffered a lot in this attack. After this, Israel retaliated to destroy Hamas and declared war. Hamas is not convinced
The Security Council on Monday approved its first resolution aimed at ending the 8-month-long war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The US-backed ceasefire proposal was announced by President Joe Biden. The US says Israel has accepted the proposal. However, Hamas is not convinced that Israel has accepted the proposal. Hamas had welcomed the proposal. Hamas is ready to work with mediators instead of direct talks with Israel to implement the proposal. However, Hamas has stressed that the extremist group will continue its ‘struggle’ to end Israel’s occupation and will continue to work to make Palestine a fully sovereign country.
Security Council passes resolution
Let us tell you that out of the 15 member countries of the Security Council, 14 supported this resolution and approved it with a majority, although Russia was absent from the voting. In this resolution, Israel and Hamas have been called upon to fully implement its rules without any condition and delay. US Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield said that after the voting, the Council has given a clear message to Hamas that it will have to accept the ceasefire agreement. He reiterated that Israel has accepted this agreement, which has been supported by countries around the world.
