In the India-Austria joint statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again said that this is not the time for war. He said that Chancellor Nehammer and I have discussed in detail all the ongoing disputes in the world, whether it is the conflict in Ukraine or the situation in West Asia. PM Modi said that I have said earlier also that this is not the time for war. Both our countries strongly condemn terrorism. We agree that terrorism is not acceptable in any form. It cannot be justified in any way. He said that the battlefield cannot be the solution to problems. Wherever it is, the loss of lives of innocent people is not acceptable. He said that India and Austria emphasize on dialogue and diplomacy for the early restoration of peace and stability. For this, both of us are ready to provide all possible cooperation together.
In a joint statement issued by the two countries after meeting the Austrian Chancellor, the Prime Minister said that he had a very fruitful conversation with Chancellor Nehammer. We discussed new possibilities to further strengthen mutual cooperation. We have decided that the relationship between the two countries will be given a strategic direction.
PM Modi said that today we also shared views on challenges like climate change and terrorism facing humanity. We invite Austria to join our initiatives like International Solar Organization, Biofuel Alliance in relation to climate.
Narendra Modi said that both of us strongly condemn terrorism. We agree that terrorism is not acceptable in any form. It cannot be justified in any way. We agree to reform the United Nations and other international institutions so that they can be made contemporary and effective.
He said, “Elections will be held in Austria in the coming months. On behalf of the people of India, the mother of democracy and the world’s largest democracy, I extend my best wishes to Chancellor Nehammer and the people of Austria.”
