India is most important for us... Maldives' heart expressed its feelings, Muizzu's minister praised it, that too in China

Beijing: Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu may have become a slave to China. He is giving more importance to China than India. But one of his ministers still considers India as his important partner. He knows what all India has done for Maldives. Yes, Muizzu government minister Mohammad Saeed in Maldives has praised India in front of China. He has praised the relations between Maldives and India and said that India is the most important neighbor of Maldives. He has openly said what President Muizzu has been shying away from saying till now. Muizzu also knows how important India is for Maldives, but he is unable to speak because of China.

In fact, Maldives’ senior minister Mohammed Saeed, who arrived on his first visit to China, talked about President Mohammed Muizzu’s recent visit to New Delhi and the importance of relations with India for his country’s tourism-dependent economy. This comment of Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohammed Saeed has come at a time when Male has re-established relations with New Delhi after President Muizzu’s visit to India. President Muizzu went to India on June 9 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Muizzu is considered a supporter of China.

What did the minister say?
Mohammed Saeed, who is attending the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalian, China, said in an interview to CNBC International TV, “President Muizzu has reiterated that India remains our closest neighbor.” In response to a question about the “tension” in relations between India and Maldives, Saeed said, “India and Maldives have had good relations for a long time. India is one of the most important tourist destinations for us, especially in terms of tourists coming from India. India has a lot of investment in Maldives, especially in the tourism sector.”

Muizzu came on a tour to India
On his return to Male from New Delhi, President Muizzu described his official visit to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi as an ‘important success’ for the Maldives. Muizzu also stressed that strong relations between the two countries will bring prosperity to Maldives and Maldivian citizens. Mohammed Saeed is the first Maldivian minister to visit China. Earlier in January, President Muizzu visited Beijing.

Muizzu got misled under the patronage of China
Let us tell you that ever since Muizzu became the President, relations between India and Maldives have been deteriorating. China has trapped Maldives in its net. Muizzu is showing his attitude towards India under the patronage of China. This is the reason why he first got the Indian soldiers withdrawn, then after that he ignored the help given by India. However, India also gave a tit for tat reply to Maldives and shook its tourism sector. Maldives suffered a huge loss because of India. But now Muizzu is slowly coming to his senses. This is the reason why he came to Modi’s swearing-in ceremony and has once again started trying to improve relations with India.
