New Delhi, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s love for Khalistan is not decreasing. He issued a statement on the 39th anniversary of the Air India flight ‘Kanishka’ bomb blast, but refrained from condemning pro-Khalistan terrorism. But the people there gave the answer. When members of the pro-Khalistan Sikh for Justice arrived at the prayer meeting held in memory of the victims, people got angry. They were insulted and chased away. This is being seen as people’s anger against Khalistanis in Canada. India has been repeatedly warning Canada about this. But Trudeau does not listen.
On June 23, 1985, pro-Khalistan terrorists bombed Air India flight AI-182 in mid-air, killing all 329 passengers on board. This is considered the most heinous terrorist incident in the history of Canada. Every year thousands of people gather on this day and remember the victims. This time when a prayer meeting was organized, Sikhs for Justice and other pro-Khalistan groups attended it to gain people’s sympathy. But the opposite happened. They had to face humiliation instead of sympathy. The victims said, no Sikh wants a Khalistan nation. They also expressed their unhappiness over the fact that no representative of the Canadian government came to this program. They also protested against this. Also, they condemned the behavior of the Khalistanis.
Sikh community does not want Khalistan
A source in the Indian High Commission said, this is the true face of the Sikh community living in Canada. They are being subdued by politicians and political will. Because the leaders want to show that people want to create Khalistan. Whereas no Canadian Sikh supports Khalistan. They feel that Western countries are doing this because they do not want India to compete with them.
Prayer meetings in several cities across Canada
Indian missions in the Canadian capital Ottawa and the city of Toronto commemorated the anniversary of the 1985 Kanishka bombing. High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma paid tribute to the victims of the cowardly terrorist bombing. Sharing pictures on social media, he wrote, Any act glorifying terrorism, including the bombing of AI-182 in 1985, is reprehensible and should be condemned by all peace-loving countries and people. It is unfortunate that such acts are allowed to happen regularly on many occasions in Canada.
Jaishankar said- terrorism will never be tolerated
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also posted, writing, Today is the 39th anniversary of one of the worst acts of terrorism in history. My condolences are with their families. This anniversary reminds us that terrorism should never be tolerated. On the other hand, Canadian police said – this is one of the most complex investigations. We are actively investigating it.
