Bokaro. Ankit Singh, a resident of Adarsh Cooperative of Bokaro, has been selected for the 61st National Chess Championship 2024 to be held in Sector 50, Gurgaon, Haryana from 17 August to 27 August. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, July 23, Ankit of Bokaro became the champion with 8.5 points in the Jharkhand State FIDE Rating Chess Competition held at Sarla Birla University, Ranchi. A total of 311 competitors participated in this competition. Ankit has also become the winner of a prize of Rs 17500 along with the trophy in this competition.

In a special conversation with Local 18, Ankit Singh said that he has a keen interest in chess since childhood. Because there has always been a good atmosphere of chess in his family. His mother, father and elder sister liked to play chess in their free time. He considers Vishwanathan Anand and Magnus Carlson as his role models. Regarding his family background, Ankit said that his father Ramji Singh is associated with the transportation business. His mother Anita Sinha is a housewife.

Ankit completed his early education from Guru Govind Singh Public School, Sector 5, Bokaro. After that, he completed his graduation in B.Sc from Sector 12 RBS College and now his next goal is to win the National Chess Competition.
