The canteen at the Games Village will serve 100 per cent vegetarian food to promote the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle. Philippe Wurz, responsible for food and beverage at the Paris Games, said: “We wanted to focus on vegetarian options. 60 percent of the dishes available to the players will be vegetarian. We are convinced that with these Games we have a unique opportunity to do things differently and show that another model is possible. We can announce with great pride that all the food options at La Concorde (a specialty restaurant) will be 100 percent vegetarian. The Olympic and Paralympic Village will have a bakery that will conduct workshops for athletes. Sodexo Live has full responsibility for catering at the Olympic Games. “We had decided early on that there should be a bakery in the Olympic Village. Whatever it was, we wanted to make the baguettes ourselves in the Games Village,” said Chef Stephane Chicheri.

There will also be a food court in the sports village
Between the sports village and the restaurants will be a food court space with a 500 square metre (5,400 square foot) terrace.
