You will remember that last year the story of SDM Jyoti Maurya and Alok in Uttar Pradesh made a lot of headlines. Now a similar case has come to light from Begusarai in Bihar. The story here is even more amazing. Here a husband fed, watered and educated his wife for 11 years by working as a labourer. The husband’s hard work and the wife’s luck paid off. The wife was selected as a constable.
Now this is where the real story begins. As soon as the wife became a constable, everything went well for a few days. But then slowly the power of the uniform started to come and first of all this power was shown on her own husband. The female constable did not like her laborer husband anymore. He started asking for a divorce from her. Now the poor husband was unable to understand what had happened… I had left no stone unturned in my hard work. Then why this?
This strange case is from Sanha village of Sahebpur Kamal block of Begusarai district. Roshni Kumari, daughter of Ram Vinay Rai, a resident of this village, was married to Vijay Kumar, son of Prithvi Rai of Bakhri block of Begusarai district in 2013. The family was happy after the marriage. Roshni’s mother-in-law Kaushalya Devi says that the daughter-in-law was fond of studying, we educated her by selling corn, wheat and paddy, whatever the son earned by working hard, he spent it on the daughter-in-law’s education. Now the daughter-in-law forgot everything as soon as she became a police constable.
The husband-wife relationship started to crack during the training. But as soon as Roshni’s training was completed, the relationship changed completely and she started asking for a divorce from her laborer husband. Things escalated to such an extent that Roshni started asking for a divorce. Roshni told her husband that you give me a straight divorce or else I will get you killed.
The in-laws got a panchayat done in the police station
Local social worker Deepak Azad said that we also organized a Panchayat at Bakhri police station at the social level to reunite the husband and wife. Vijay said that he started trying his level best to make Roshni give up her decision and stay with him. Then Roshni’s father and brother Vijay also started pressuring Roshni to get a divorce.
