Moscow. The results of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia have started showing on the very first day. In fact, Russia has decided to give leave to all the Indians fighting for the Russian army in Ukraine and facilitate their return. This is a major success achieved during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow.
Sources said that PM Modi raised this issue when he met Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday for a private dinner. President Putin also agreed to his point and thus the return of Indian youth trapped in the Russian army could be ensured.

In fact, many Indian youth got lured into the Russian army by the promise of a good job and are fighting on the battlefield on behalf of Russia in this Ukraine war. The plight of those Indians is a matter of great concern for New Delhi and the Indian Foreign Ministry is also constantly raising this issue with Russia. However, now PM Modi’s visit to Russia has brought this difficult task to an end and now all these Indians will soon be able to return home and breathe a sigh of relief.
Let us tell you that Russia has a very small population and because of this, it recruits citizens of other countries in its army during war and the fraudsters took advantage of this and trapped many Indians there.

These Indians who went abroad with dreams of getting a good job, were shocked to know the reality when they reached Russia. They were forced to fight on behalf of the Russian army in the Ukraine war and are forced to somehow live their lives in very difficult conditions. These Indians had also posted a video on social media, in which they had narrated their ordeal and sought help from the Indian government.
In March this year, 30-year-old Mohammed Asfan, a resident of Hyderabad, died due to injuries sustained while deployed with Russian troops on the front lines of the Ukraine war. Earlier in February, 23-year-old Hemal Ashwinbhai Mangua, a resident of Surat, was killed in a Ukrainian airstrike while deployed as a ‘security assistant’ in the Donetsk region.
Prime Minister Modi is on a crucial two-day visit to India’s old partner Russia, his first visit since the Ukraine war broke out in February 2022. PM Modi last visited Russia in 2019, while his last meeting with Putin was at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in 2022 in Uzbekistan.
