According to a CNN report, the Admiral Gorshkov frigate will offer tours to the public in Cuba for three days. This has raised doubts as to why the Russian warship would be opened to the public for so many days on the Cuban coast. When the Russian warship Gorshkov arrived in Cuba on Wednesday, it was given a rousing 21-gun salute. Cubans saluted the Russian warship with cannon fire from the 18th-century fortress that towers over the harbor, built by the Spaniards to protect the city from pirates. Gorshkov was accompanied by a rescue tug, a fuel ship and Kazan, a super-spec nuclear-powered submarine.
