Samsung launched its first smart ring, will take care of your health and fitness, equipped with AI features

New Delhi. Samsung Galaxy Ring has finally been officially launched during the second edition of Galaxy Unpacked. This ring has been launched along with the latest Galaxy Z foldable smartphones. The South Korean brand’s first smart ring has been introduced with different health tracking and sleep monitoring features and is available in three finishes with sizes up to 13. The Galaxy Ring weighs from 2.3 grams to 3.0 grams and is water-resistant. According to the company’s claim, it will give up to seven days of battery life on a single charge.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is priced at $399 (approximately Rs 34,000) and will be available for pre-order in select markets from July 10 and will go on sale from July 24. It is available in Titanium Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Gold colour options.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Specifications and Features

The Galaxy Ring is available in nine sizes ranging from five to 13. The wearable device will be offered with a sizing kit that will help you find the perfect fit from the nine size options. It has 8MB of memory and is equipped with a PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor that lets users detect irregular heartbeats. It also includes a temperature sensor and an accelerometer that gives wearers insights about their well-being. It works with the Samsung Health app.

Like Samsung’s recent Galaxy devices, the Galaxy Ring also has a Galaxy AI touch. With Galaxy AI features like Energy Score and Wellness Tips, the Galaxy Ring generates a detailed health report with different metrics and makes suggestions to the wearer. It features a sleep AI algorithm to provide data about sleep patterns and create better habits. Along with sleep score and snoring analysis, the wearable gives sleep metrics like movement during sleep, sleep delay, and heart and respiratory rate. The ring can also track menstrual cycles along with cycle tracking.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring will also provide instant alerts about heart beats through Heart Rate Alert via the Samsung Health app. Auto workout detection and inactive alert are also present on the device. Additionally, the ring can be used to take photos or turn off alarms on paired Galaxy smartphones with a few taps. Users can also find the location of the Galaxy Ring via Galaxy smartphones with Find My Ring on Samsung Find.

The wearable device is water and sweat resistant with an IP68 rating and is certified for 10 ATM water resistance. It has a titanium grade 5 build and offers Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. The Galaxy Ring can be paired with Samsung Galaxy smartphones running Android 11.0 or above and a minimum of 1.5GB of memory. It has a 361mAh battery and can be charged from 0 to 40 percent in 30 minutes.
