New Delhi. Former United States President Donald Trump has criticized the US women’s Olympic football team, which won a bronze medal by defeating Australia on August 5. 77-year-old Trump said in a statement, “If our football team had not been woken up by a radical-led group of left-wing lunatics, they would have won the gold medal instead of the bronze.” He said, “Woke up means you lost, whatever it is, the walksters get screwed and our football team has definitely got screwed.” The former president said, “They should replace those with left-wing views or attitudes regarding social justice in the team with patriots and start winning again.”
The former US President has targeted other members of the team including female star player Megan Rapinoe. He particularly targeted Rapinoe and called her the ‘purple haired lady’. Trump said that she played very poorly. Even though she scored two of the four goals for the team, including a wonderful corner.

Let us tell you that Rapinoe is one of the most open critics of Donald Trump and she had previously supported Senator Elizabeth Warren during the 2020 Democratic primary.

Trump has previously criticised Rapinoe for refusing to visit the White House while he was in office. He celebrated the US women’s soccer team’s win against Sweden during a rally in Arizona late last month.
At the time, she said, “The behavior and attitude of people who are conscious of social and political injustice leads them to lose their minds. It ruins your mind, and it ruins you as a person. You become distorted. You become insane. The US women’s soccer team is a very good example of what’s going on.”
