Doon University Deputy Registrar Mangal Singh Mandrawal says that for admission in Doon University, one has to give an entrance exam. Registration for the entrance is starting today i.e. 11th May. The entrance test is to be held on 16th June.

The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in eight areas. These are – School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR), School of Social Sciences, School of Media & Communication Studies, School of Languages, School of Management, School of Technology, School of Design, School of Physical Sciences.

This registration can be done by visiting the Doon University website https://www.doonuniversity.org/en/home. Interested students can apply for any of these subjects according to their subjects and their choice. For this, it is necessary for the students to score 50 percent marks.

Mandrawal says that it does not matter to the university whether you have 51% marks or 81%. All students who have scored above 50% have to give the same exam. The university looks at how you perform in the entrance test.

The admission process has also begun in Petroleum University, another highly reputed university located in the capital Dehradun. The special thing about this university is that it does not offer general graduate or post graduate courses, but specialized courses are offered here. According to the university’s website, this is the only university in the country that offers more than 110 specialized graduate and post graduate courses.

The first date to apply for admission in B.Tech and LLB in Petroleum University has passed on Friday i.e. yesterday. However, Senior Director and PRO of the University, Dr. Arun Dhand, says that if the seats are not filled, then the admission process is started again. The admission process in Petroleum University is somewhat different from other places. Dr. Dhand tells that citing the example of B.Tech and B.Des (Bachelor of Design), 80 percent of the seats for admission in these are reserved for All India exams. For this, one should have at least 60% marks in 10th and 12th. Also, one should have at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths in 12th.

The remaining 20% ​​are filled through non-exams i.e. merit. The condition for this is that the student should have at least 80% marks in 10th and 12th. Also, he/she should have more than 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths in 12th. All such children are selected on the basis of merit.

There is no entrance exam in MTech, instead there is a direct interview based on the performance of 10th, 12th and BTech. The facility of interview is provided not only in Dehradun but also in many other cities.

Similarly, there is no entrance in management courses. For BBA, you should have at least 50% marks in 10th and 12th. All applicants have to go through interview and group discussion. Merit is made on the basis of that. For MBA, there is an all India level exam. Apart from this, admission is also taken through CAT and MAT.
