IND vs SL ODI: India is ahead in records, 'Miyan Magic' worked in Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli shines in batting
New Delhi. After Team India’s clean sweep in T20, now it is the turn of the ODI series. The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Colombo on Friday, August 2. While captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Kuldeep Yadav have reached Sri Lanka for the ODI series, T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya are not part of this team. If media reports are to be believed, Hardik had requested to be kept out of the ODI team due to personal reasons, which was accepted and he has not been given a place in this team.
Team India will score a century of ODI wins over Sri Lanka!
Team India has an upper hand in terms of overall and records on Sri Lankan soil against the Sri Lankan team. The teams of both the countries have faced each other in 168 ODIs so far in which India has won 99 matches and Sri Lanka has won 57. One match was tied while 11 matches were inconclusive. In the first ODI on Friday, the ‘Rohit Sharma Brigade’ will have a chance to score a century of wins against Sri Lanka. Siraj, who could take only one wicket in the T20 series, has played two ODIs in Sri Lanka and has taken 7 wickets at an average of 5.42 and economy of 3.16. Among the bowlers of the current ODI team, Akila Dhananjaya has taken the maximum 12 wickets in 5 matches in Sri Lanka, captain Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have taken four wickets each in 5 matches and Dunith Wellage has taken 5 wickets in two matches against India.
