Kyrgyzstan Violence: 'Sir, we are locked in the hostel for four days, we can't even go out'

‘Sir, we are locked in the hostel for four days, we cannot even go out. We are forbidden to go out. Anyhow, we are praying to God to keep us safe.’ This is what Ravi Sarathe, who is studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, said. Talking to News 18, Ravi Sarathe said that if truth be told, every Indian student here is in panic. No one knows what will happen when. Ravi Sarathe says in a trembling voice, ‘I am doing MBBS from the Asian Medical Institute here. This is my third year. Till now, nothing like this has ever happened here, but for the last four-five days, whatever is happening here is beyond comprehension.

Living a quarantine type life
Ravi says that his dream is to become a doctor after studying MBBS. To fulfill this dream, he reached Kyrgyzstan, but never thought that he would have to spend his life in such a captivity. He further says that we are living a quarantine type life in the hostel. Let us tell you that Ravi Sarathe is a resident of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Currently, he is studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, but for the last few days, the local people in Kyrgyzstan are protesting against the outside students. The local residents are even beating up some students and getting them to vacate their houses. Many videos of this are going viral. The brother of Yogesh Chaudhary, another student studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, said that Bhaiya is very nervous. He is in the hostel. Going out is prohibited. In such a situation, hundreds of students like him cannot go out of the hostel. We are very worried.

What is the whole matter?
According to media reports, a dispute has started between locals and outsiders in Kyrgyzstan. Actually, this whole matter started after the incident of molestation of Egyptian girl students. During this, a fight broke out between the two sides. Due to which the local students started fighting and violence. Here more cases of misbehavior with students from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are coming to light.

Thousands of Indian students stranded
Every year thousands of Indian students go to Kyrgyzstan to study MBBS. Currently, about 30 thousand Indian students are studying there, out of which about 1200 students from Madhya Pradesh are in Kyrgyzstan. After this incident, their families informed the officials, after which the information reached CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, he also talked to some students on video call and assured them. Let us tell you that many children from Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch of Madhya Pradesh are studying medicine in Kyrgyzstan.
