Masoom Review: If there is only one 'innocent' truth, then why does every viewer see it from his own perspective? - masoom review masoom truth has many facets to each his own ps

For the last two years, Boman Irani has done almost no acting work in films. This year only two-three of his films were released – 83 (Farooq Engineer), Jayesh Bhai Jordaar (Prithvish), Runway 34 (Nishant Suri). The reason for this must have been not getting good roles. Now Boman Irani has knocked on the OTT platform with the recently released web series “Masoom”. Boman, who started his acting career at the age of 44, will once again surprise everyone with his acting in his 63rd year of age, this web series promises. In this web series set in the backdrop of Punjab, Boman plays a doctor, whose mutual relationships with family members become the reason for tension in every episode. Masoom is like a very bitter medicine, so watch this psychological series carefully. Its story moves a little slowly and the visual structure weighs on the mind.

Sophie Petzel wrote a series for Britain’s Channel 5 in 2018 – Blood. The Indian adaptation of this series is the web series – Masoom, produced by Reliance Entertainment and Namit Sharma. The director of this web series is Mihir Desai, whose web series Mirzapur has made its mark in the field of OTT. Television writer Satyam Tripathi (Shaurya Aur Anokhi Kahani, Hitler Didi, Ek Mutthi Aasman) has given the spirit of Punjabi culture to this web series. Song writer Ginni Dewan, who has worked with Mihir Desai in Mirzapur, has written some very beautiful songs and poems in Masoom. Emerging musician Anand Bhaskar has given voice to these songs, but the background music that Anand has composed for Masoom is a small introduction to his excellent talent. Inside Edge and Love Hostel cinematographer Vivek Shah has captured in his camera that Punjab which is beyond the world of mustard fields, bhangra, lassi and drugs. Manan Mehta, who has worked with Mihir Desai in Mirzapur, has edited the innocence by cutting it into pieces.

Dr. Balraj’s (Boman Irani) youngest daughter Nikki (Samara Tijori) returns to her village because her mother Gunavati (Upasana Singh), who has been bedridden for many years, dies under mysterious circumstances. Nikki suspects her father as incidents keep happening one after another which deepens her suspicion. Nikki’s elder brother is a gay and her elder sister is having a fight with her husband and Dr. Balraj is having an affair with a nurse. Due to this, Nikki keeps suspecting her father again and again. Episode after episode, by remembering many old incidents and seeing her father’s actions, Nikki wants to blame her father for her mother’s murder, but circumstances take such a turn that Boman confesses to her that he killed her mother. The first season has been ended with the possibility of season 2.

Boman Irani is a stormy actor
Boman Irani is a stormy actor. His acting has many dimensions. On one hand, he is a doctor who is going through financial crisis, on the other hand, he is a murderer in the eyes of his younger daughter, he is also preparing to contest elections separately, he also has a girlfriend. Boman sometimes plays the role of grumpy, sometimes rude, sometimes dangerous, sometimes a suspicious character and sometimes a wife-lover. Samara Tijori, daughter of famous actor and director Deepak Tijori, has also acted very well. Before this, she was seen in the film Bob Biswas starring Abhishek Bachchan. She is angry with her father since childhood and keeps expressing this anger in different ways.

Mother’s written poem read at mother’s condolence meeting
When she reads out a poem written by her mother at her mother’s condolence meeting, she moves the audience. Even in the emotional scenes of the last episode, her crying seems natural. For once, it feels strange to see Upasana Singh in a serious role, but she has shown in the role of a wife and mother who has been bedridden for years that she can do something different beyond just playing a comic role. Apart from Manjari Fadnis and Veer Rajwant Singh, it is fun to see Manu Rishi Chaddha in the role of an inspector. It seems that he will play a very important role in the next season. In the very first scene, when Manu comes to know that Sana is the daughter of Doctor Balraj and Gunwanti, his tone changes. Only an actor of Manu Rishi’s stature can play the role of a policeman who drops Sana home in his car, from a strict inspector in a single moment.
