Sunidhi Chauhan, who has herself been a judge of a popular singing reality show, has now spoken openly about these allegations being made on the shows.
Reality shows have changed a lot
When the host asked Sunidhi if she felt that reality shows are not real anymore, Sunidhi agreed and said, ‘Reality shows have changed a lot now, but it was not like this earlier. If you remember, there was no story in the first two seasons. There was fun, a bad singer would come, and we would tell him to come in the next season. All that was scripted. But, what you are hearing there is what goes on TV. It is real.’
Everything is scripted in advance
Sunidhi further says- ‘But, what you are watching on TV now is all scripted. They make sure that there is no bad singer in their show. It seems funny that this person sang so well, then why did he get eliminated. Because, you even stood up on this, you even cried. You said that you sang better than the original, then how did he get eliminated in the next episode? Because, the audience has a lot of faith in your words. It can be up and down sometimes, but they feel that if they are saying it, then it must be right. Then when such people are eliminated, the audience also gets shocked that we had voted for him, then how did he get eliminated.’
What things troubled Sunidhi?
She further said that all these things started bothering me, so I stopped being a part of it. Then I did ‘The Voice’, in which I put forward some of my conditions and they also agreed to my conditions. In that show, I was satisfied that the audience is also listening to what we are listening to. I would not have tolerated this cheating, so I am happy that I was a part of this show, but now I am not a part of this show. She said that it is about the show ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’, when there is no story and you make a fake story. This was the most shocking thing for me, when I was told to say something good to take it forward. Then I said that I cannot do this. They already choose that this is to be taken forward.
