When seen from below the tree, it seems that the leaves are green. But, when seen from the front, the color of the leaves becomes dark. These leaves change their color as the sunlight increases and adopt a dark color. These are unique trees of their kind, which are found only in Himachal in the entire country.

There are only 5 trees in the country
Akash, the guide of Rashtrapati Niwas Chhabra, told Local 18 that the name of these trees is “Copper Beech”. These trees are unique in themselves, whose color appears green from the bottom of the tree and dark from the front. The color of the leaves of the tree becomes dark in 20 to 25 days. The more sunlight falls on the tree, the more the color of the leaves also becomes dark. There are only five trees in the entire country, which are present in Himachal. Out of these, three trees have been planted in Rashtrapati Niwas, one tree in Wild Flower Hall and one tree in Chail Palace.

The general of the British army brought the plants
Lord Kitchener, an army officer of the British government, who was a general in the army, brought these plants here. Lord Kitchener was very fond of gardening. That is why he brought these plants here from Britain. This can also be seen as an experiment, which was successful. However, there are only five such trees in India, which are present in Himachal Pradesh. But, these trees can be easily seen in Britain, in many places these trees can also be seen on the roadside.
