In CCTV footage, a high speed car is passing by trampling people.
A man drove a car into people at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany on Friday. One person died and more than 50 people were injured in the incident. The accused has been arrested.
The injured have been taken to the hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. Police are investigating further into the matter and have appealed to people to stay away from the incident site.
The incident is reminiscent of a major terrorist incident in Berlin on 19 December 2016, when an Islamic extremist drove a truck into a crowd at a Christmas market. 13 people were killed and dozens were injured in the incident. That attacker was killed a few days later in a police encounter in Italy.

Police and rescue team reached the spot immediately after the incident.
The injured were admitted to the nearest hospital.
The police have completely evacuated the incident site.
A Christmas market is held every year in Magdeburg.
Magdeburg is the capital of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The city is located on the banks of the Elbe River and has a population of approximately 240,000.
The city is located about an hour and a half drive from Berlin. Magdeburg holds a Christmas market once a year and draws large crowds.
