To decorate and beautify the city in Bareilly, BDA has installed trident-shaped pillars on Qudeshia Overbridge, protesting against which Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, has expressed his reaction on this.

Maulana said that this is tarnishing the image of the city. Symbols of the same religion should not be placed on government properties. For this, he demanded to build Ala Hazrat Corridor along with North Corridor. National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin accused BDA of promoting only one religion. Said that BDA is also working in a good direction, but putting symbols of any one religion on pillars and dividers etc. is tarnishing the image of the city.

Shahabuddin Razvi expressed his displeasure and said that there would be no objection if symbols of all religions are installed. Muslims will not have any objection if some things are put along with the Trishul as a mark of recognition of other religions. If the mark of only one religion is put on government properties, then everyone will have objection.
Maulana also said that our country is not a country of followers of any particular religion, the Constitution talks about respecting all religions, if BDA promotes only one religion then it will hurt the hearts of all the people.
Maulana said that along with North Corridor, Ala Hazrat Corridor should also be built. He said that Ala Hazrat is the name of a world famous personality, because of him Bareilly Sharif is known all over the world. Our demand is that parks and roads should be named after freedom fighters like Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmed Chishti, Hazrat Shah Dana Wali, Hazrat Shah Sharafat Mian, besides Hafiz Rahmat Khan, Khan Bahadur Khan and Maulana Raza Ali Khan Barelvi.
