AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has demanded the arrest of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri amid the ongoing controversy over settlement of Rohingyas in Delhi. The former Delhi Chief Minister said in a press conference on Monday (December 30) that Puri, who was the Housing Minister in the second term of the Narendra Modi government, has revealed all the data about where Rohingya refugees were settled in the national capital. Along with this, Kejriwal requested Delhi Police to arrest Hardeep Singh Puri.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Arvind Kejriwal said, “I request them (Delhi Police) to arrest Hardeep Singh Puri. They have all the data about where and how the Rohingyas were settled. He tweeted (X) the information. Granted, Hardeep Singh Puri and Amit Shah (Union Home Minister) have all the data on how and where the Rohingyas were settled.”
A day earlier on Sunday, AAP accused BJP of settling Rohingya refugees in the capital. Puri responded to AAP’s attack by saying that the names of Rohingyas should be struck off from the voter list as the refugees have been settled by the Delhi government in favor of Kejriwal’s party.
Union Minister’s counterattack
The Union Minister wrote on Will definitely prove it to be false. The truth is that till date no EWS flat has been given to any Rohingya. Kejriwal ji has settled them in Delhi and provided them with free ration, water and electricity. to one Got their voter card made by paying Rs 10,000. Attacking Kejriwal in his post, Hardeep Singh Puri further wrote, “His nature is such that there is no one who has not been cheated by Kejriwal. Kejriwal’s repeated support to Rohingya is playing with the security of the country.” It’s like doing this! The clarification on the basis of which they are spreading lies was given by the Home Ministry just a few hours later! This is in the public domain, yet it is shameless to spread lies! He further said that the election results of Delhi will be similar to Haryana and Maharashtra, where BJP emerged victorious. On the other hand, senior AAP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, termed a 2022 post on X by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as ‘evidence’.
AAP leaders claimed that BJP was involved in housing Rohingya Muslims in EWS (Economically Weaker Section) flats in Delhi’s Bakkarwala area. BJP hit back at AAP over the allegations.
Delhi Party President Virendra Sachdeva said that ever since his party has started a campaign to disenfranchise Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis living illegally and expel them from the country. Since then Kejriwal and other AAP leaders have been resorting to baseless statements to divert people’s attention.
BJP accuses AAP regarding Rohingya
At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused Arvind Kejriwal of giving shelter to Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators. He claimed that Kejriwal is doing all this for political gains. Sirsa issued a video message and made many allegations against the former CM of Delhi.
He said, “Arvind Kejriwal is raising the question by holding a press conference today as to why the votes of Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators are being cut off. We say with pride that you have made your votes in Delhi from Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators. Every He has eight to ten thousand votes in the Assembly, and two or five people live in a Hindu family’s house, but he has fifty votes in his name.”

He further said, “We want to make it clear that we will not allow any infiltrator to vote in Delhi. The reason for your victory was that you settled these infiltrators in Delhi, gave them money, ration and free water. Delhi People are suffering the punishment for this and now when questions are being raised about it, you are feeling pain. We clearly say that the votes of these infiltrators will be cut off and they will not be allowed to vote in Delhi.
