Neighbors arrived after raising noise

People nearby reached the spot and informed the police. Police reached the spot after getting information and admitted the elderly couple to a private hospital. Where now his condition is said to be stable. On the complaint of the elderly, the police registered a case against the miscreants and started investigation, but till now they have not found their clue. The number of miscreants is said to be two.

The couple had gone to sleep after having dinner.

Chandra Mohan Rajput (82), resident of Sector 21 C, is retired from the Defense Ministry. He lives here with his wife Kamla (80), while his son is a military officer. In the complaint given to Ankhir police post, he said that on the night of December 28, around 10-45 pm, he was sleeping in a room after having dinner. Then suddenly a very loud sound came from the other room.

Hearing the sound, the wife went and saw that two criminals aged around 22-25 years were present in the other room. The door to the back courtyard of the room was open. On seeing both, the miscreants attacked the victimized couple with a screwdriver and other sharp objects.

The victim told the police that after being attacked, the miscreants threw him on the ground and then tied the hands and legs of the retired officer and started looting. After tying up the old man, the miscreants kept beating him and asking about his valuables. The gold jewelery kept in the house and the gold jewelery worn by his wife, Rs 15,000, card, mobile, new hearing aid and its charger, car keys were looted.

The victim officer told that the miscreants took the security of the UPI account of the mobile while threatening to kill both of them (husband and wife) and transferred about Rs 1.5 lakh from it to their account. The victim told that the miscreants took away four gold bangles, a gold chain and locket, two gold rings and four foreign watches. After the miscreants left, the victim raised an alarm.

Hearing the noise, people nearby came to help and informed the police.

Police registered a case and started investigation

Police reached the spot after receiving information and admitted the elderly couple to Asian Hospital. He suffered injuries on his face, hands, legs, neck and head. On receiving the information, the military officer’s son living outside has also reached. On the complaint of the victim, Ankhir police post has registered a case, but till now no clue has been found about the miscreants.

Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh says that two teams of Crime Branch 48 and Ankhir Chowki have been deployed in search of the miscreants. CCTV footage installed around the incident site is also being scrutinized. The miscreants will be arrested soon.
