Investigation agencies in Bangladesh have arrested 4 people for attacks on Hindu temples and houses. These people were accused of vandalizing a temple and houses and shops of Hindus in the northern district Sunamganj. Police had registered a case against 12 named and 170 unidentified people in this case.

There was tension in Sunamganj district following a Facebook post on December 3. Although the post was deleted after the controversy, its screen shots went viral on social media. After this violence spread in the area.

During this period the rioters had vandalized the Loknath temple and houses of Hindus in Sunamganj. After the violence spread, the police took the person who made the post, Akash Das, into custody the same day. Due to security reasons, he was taken to the police station of the district headquarters.
