BPSC Student Protest: FIR lodged against Prashant Kishor for protest in Patna, accused of instigating students - bpsc protest fir against prashant kishor and 700 people others for instigating patna gandhi maidan stir


BPSC Protest News: Bihar Police has registered a case against Jan Suraj Party (JSP) chief Prashant Kishore for inciting Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates to protest at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Police on Sunday (December 29) used water cannons and mild force to disperse the protesters protesting in Patna demanding cancellation of the BPSC examination held on December 13. Also, a case has been registered against 600-700 unknown people including Prashant Kishore and his party president.

Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh told PTI that the protesters tried to move towards the chief minister’s residence in the evening. Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore was also among the protesters. He said that while marching from Gandhi Maidan towards JP Golambar, the protesters also tried to cross the barricades at many places.

The District Magistrate said, “The administration had made it clear yesterday that no demonstration would be allowed in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, despite this the protesters gathered there on Sunday. The District Police arrested Prashant Kishor, his party president Manoj Bharti, An FIR has been registered against 21 known and 600-700 unidentified people, including city teacher Ramanshu Mishra, for organizing a students’ meeting at Gandhi Maidan without the permission of the authorities.”

The teenagers reached the protest site on Sunday and left from there after about an hour. He accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that he has gone to Delhi on a personal tour, but he has no time for the youth of his state. While addressing the candidates, Kishore suggested that students should ‘sit on fast in numbers of 100-100 so that the health of fewer people is affected.’

He said, “The Chief Minister has no time to listen to the grievances of the protesting candidates…He has gone to Delhi. Unless their demand of canceling the examination is accepted, the protest by the candidates will continue. I will always support the protestors.” I am with the students.”

Police did lathicharge

Police detained some protesters near JP Golambar when they blocked traffic by lying on the road near JP Golambar and refused to vacate the road. “Water cannons were used and mild force was used to disperse the protesters,” the District Magistrate said.

He said, “The government has been sensitive to the concerns of the youth. The state Chief Secretary has agreed to meet the five-member delegation endorsed by the BPSC aspirants who have been pressurizing them to meet the Chief Minister or any high-ranking official. But the protesters Have not been able to nominate five people.”

A candidate told PTI, “We never expected the government to treat us like this. We are fighting for our right…We have nothing to do with those who are trying to sabotage our movement for their political gains. Coming here to support.”

A top Patna Police official said that the police have also arrested two teachers from Patna, Ramanshu Mishra and Rohan Anand, for instigating the students. An officer said that both are out on conditional bail. At present he is being treated as his condition is not good.

Candidates have been protesting for more than a week demanding cancellation of the exam due to allegations of paper leak of the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2024 conducted by BPSC. BPSC candidates are protesting demanding re-conduct of the exam for the 70th BPSC preliminary exam.
