Sector 34 police station in Chandigarh has registered a case against Dr. Parminder and others of a private hospital located in Sector-33 in the case of death of a 74-year-old elderly woman due to negligence. In this case, the son of the deceased filed a medical complaint against the doctors of the hospital.

A 5-member team of doctors was formed in the board. It was said in the complaint that the doctors of Sector-32 Hospital told him to bring the part which was inserted in the stove after getting it written by the doctors of Landmark. But Landmark’s doctors refused to prescribe it. After which his mother’s MRI could not be done.
Sukhwinder Pal Singh Sodhi, resident of Phase-9 Mohali, told in his complaint to the police that his mother Amarjeet Kaur had suddenly fallen inside the house in March. He admitted his mother to Landmark Hospital in Sector-33 for treatment. A fracture was found in the right elbow of his leg. After which the doctors operated on him. He was discharged two days after the operation.
Problems started after three-four days of treatment After three-four days of treatment, his mother started facing more problems. He started vomiting. After which when he went to the hospital again, the hospital staff sent his mother back after prescribing medicine without admitting her. Sukhinder Pal Singh Sodhi told that despite the sodium level being 120, Landmark Hospital did not admit his mother.
Whereas if the sodium level is below 124, the patient is immediately admitted for treatment. Due to which his mother’s health started deteriorating further and she also started having seizures. When he spoke to the doctor on phone, he said that they do not have any ICU facility.
According to Sukhinder, when his mother was not fully treated at Landmark Hospital, he got his mother admitted to Sector 32 hospital. Where his mother remained in ICU for several days. His mother died during treatment.
