Panchayat Chowkidar demanding permanent policy outside Dharamshala Assembly
During the assembly session held in Tapovan, Dharamshala, Panchayat Chowkidars have demanded from the government to make a policy for them. Members of Himachal Pradesh Panchayat Chowkidar Union met Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in this regard today at Tapovan in Dharamshala.

During this, the Panchayat Chowkidars submitted their demand letter to the CM. It was demanded that like the employees of other departments, a policy should also be made for the Panchayat Chowkidar. Panchayat watchmen said that a policy has been made for such employees in other departments also.

A policy has also been made for water guards in the Education Department and they have been regularized. Similarly, Panchayat Chowkidars should also be regularised. Apart from this, Panchayat Chowkidar who has completed 12 years of tenure should be made a daily wage earner and all financial benefits should be given to him by the government. Panchayat Chowkidars appointed before 2003 should be brought under the ambit of old pension.
Like other employees, the honorarium of Panchayat Chowkidars should be released on time and orders to release it should be given to the concerned department before the 5th of every month. Panchayat Chowkidars with less than ten years of service should be given salary hike like other employees and should be declared part-time Panchayat Chowkidars like other employees.
