Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting (IB) Minister Ataullah Tardar has accused former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of increasing the politics of violence. Ataullah said that PTI’s demonstrations have never been peaceful.

The minister alleged that PTI workers spread violence in Islamabad on November 26, armed with modern weapons, sten guns, tear gas and grenades. Ataullah described 9 May and 26 November as the darkest days in the history of Pakistan.

Ataullah alleged, “PTI wants to do politics of dead bodies and pursue its political interests by spreading unrest in the country.”

Imran’s counterattack- Government is dividing on the basis of caste Jailed PTI founder Imran Khan hit back at allegations of violence, accusing the government of dividing the country on the basis of caste. While posting on X, Imran wrote that the government is targeting Pashtuns on the basis of caste.

Imran appealed to the people and said that no government ‘divide and conquer‘Do not be a part of the policy. We are all Pakistanis first. Apart from this, Imran has threatened the government with disobedience movement (disobedience to the government).

Imran has also placed two major demands before the government. The first of these is that the violence that took place on May 9 last year and November 26 this year should be investigated under the chairmanship of senior judges of the Supreme Court. The second demand is that PTI workers and leaders who are imprisoned illegally should be released.

Seven people, including four policemen, were killed in the violence on November 26.

PTI leader said- Imran’s demand for disobedience movement Imran’s party leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that the disobedience movement has been called by Imran Khan, not me. He said that when he gets complete information, he will work on it. We will follow Imran’s orders.

He said that our priority is talks, but the government will have to show its strength. PTI leader and leader of opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub on Monday said the party is ready to hold talks with anyone to resolve the political crisis.

Tension between the government and PTI has continuously increased in the last few months. This is once again being seen as the beginning of a period of political instability in Pakistan.
