The website and mobile app of Indian Railways ticket booking portal IRCTC was down again on Tuesday. This is the third time this month that the website has faced an outage. Earlier on December 26, there was a problem with the website and app.
The IRCTC website often goes down during peak hours i.e. normal ticket booking as well as Tatkal ticket booking. According to outage tracking platform Down-Detector, people started filing complaints from 9:51 am. Till 10:21 am, about 1300 people filed their reports.
According to DownDetector, 46% people found IRCTC down on the website, 42% on the app and 12% on station ticketing. After this, many users also expressed their displeasure on social media.

People expressed anger on social media platform
Although no statement has been issued by IRCTC regarding this yet, the users had to face a lot of trouble. Due to problems on IRTC website, users turned to social media. People posted a lot about this problem on social media platform X and showed a lot of anger and criticism against IRCTC.
One user wrote, Ashwini Vaishnav please close your ticketing website. It would be better if you make a reel and tell how the website is performing.

IRCTC website was down on 9th December also
This is the second time in December that the IRCTC website has been down, affecting ticket bookings of thousands of passengers. Earlier on December 9 also it was down. IRCTC had cited maintenance as the reason for this. IRCTC had said that from 4 pm on December 9 to 4 pm on December 10, new registration, change in login password and updating of profile password will not be possible.
What to do if IRCTC website is down
When the IRCTC website is down, a down time message is often visible to the user, in which it is written that due to maintenance, e-ticketing service is not available, try after some time. In such a situation, users can call the customer care numbers 14646, 08044647999 and 08035734999, or can also express their problems through email, for which they can send a message to etickets@irctc.co.in.
IRCTC shares fell 21% in 6 months
At 2:38 pm on Tuesday, IRCTC shares are trading at 786.80 with a gain of 2.32%. The company’s stock has fallen 3.64% in last one month, 20.75% in 6 months, 11.78% in one year. The market cap of IRCTC is Rs 62,960 crore.
