For this, Dainik Bhaskar team searched the CCTV cameras of factories, petrol pumps, showrooms and warehouses around the incident site. On the day of the accident, Bhaskar told from the CCTV footage installed in two factories how the accident happened and the explosion occurred after the leakage of LPG gas. Only footage of the accident and explosion were visible in the CCTV footage. No footage was found anywhere of how the vehicles got burnt after the fire and how people got caught in the fire. On this, the reporter tried to collect CCTV footage installed outside a petrol pump located near the accident and the showroom of a private vehicle company.

The petrol pump owner said – After the accident, the line of the entire area has been closed on Friday. Unless the lights come on, they will not be able to see the footage on the computer. The showroom of the private vehicle company did not open due to the accident. The guard standing outside the showroom said – Due to the accident the showroom was not opened today. The showroom staff also did not come today. The guard told that now the showroom will open only on Saturday.

The reporter reached the spot on Saturday and again started searching for CCTV footage. After talking to the petrol pump owner, it was found that he had no lights even before the accident. Nothing was recorded on CCTV. On this the reporter contacted the staff of the showroom of a private vehicle company near the petrol pump. After talking to the HR manager of the showroom, he saw the records of the CCTV footage installed inside the showroom. The camera installed outside at the main gate was found switched off. Some people were seen running away after the collision between the LPG gas tanker and the truck in the camera installed inside the showroom gate. Know how the accident happened

  • The tanker filled with LPG was coming to Jaipur from Ajmer.
  • The tanker was taking a U-turn in front of DPS school in Bhankrota.
  • The truck coming from Jaipur hit the nozzle of the gas tanker.
  • About 18 tons of gas spread into the air from the nozzle and an area of ​​200 meters became a gas chamber.
  • A few seconds later, there was a massive explosion in the tanker and fire spread to the nearby vehicles.
  • GAIL India’s DGM said that there is a crude oil pipeline about 100 meters away from the accident site, but it is safe.

18 tons of gas leaked

Sushant Kumar Singh, DGM (Fire and Safety) of GAIL India Limited, said that due to the collision, 5 nozzles of the tanker broke and 18 tonnes (180 quintals) of gas leaked. This caused such a powerful explosion that the entire area turned into a ball of fire. There was another tanker filled with LPG about 200 meters away from where the tanker exploded. It was fortunate that it did not catch fire.

5 died on the spot, 9 died in the hospital

Five people were burnt alive on the spot in the tanker blast. While 9 burnt people died during treatment in Sawai Mansingh Hospital. 31 people are still admitted in the burn unit of the hospital. Of these, about 20 people have suffered 80 percent burns. Some of the bodies brought to the hospital have not been identified yet.
