Due to the fire, all the stuff kept in the house got burnt.
A fire broke out in the house of a retired DSP in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir late on Tuesday night. Due to this, 6 people including 2 children died. At the same time, 4 people are injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
According to media reports, the retired DSP was living in the house with his family. There were a total of 10 people in the house. At around 12 o’clock on Tuesday night, a fire broke out due to a short circuit in a lamp in a room of the house, which quickly spread to other rooms of the house.
Police said that the six people who died due to suffocation and smoke have been identified as Avtar Krishna (81), Ganga Bhagat (17), Danish Bhagat (15), Barkha Raina (25), Takash Raina (3) and Advik Raina. (4)
Meanwhile, Swarna (61), Neetu Devi (40), Arun Kumar (69) and Kewal Krishna are undergoing treatment in the government hospital in Kathua.

Principal of the government hospital, SK Atri said- This is a very sad incident. DSP retired in the months of September and October. After this he came to Kathua to live in a rented house. Apart from the retired DSP, his wife, daughter, son and daughter’s son are also included. Along with this, sister-in-law’s two children have also died. A neighbor who came to save the retired DSP was also injured.
