India and China held 38 meetings in 2 years

There was tension between India and China over the border dispute in eastern Ladakh for four years. After two years of negotiations, an agreement was reached on 21 October that both armies would withdraw from the disputed points Depsang and Demchok. After this, from October 25, the armies of both the countries started withdrawing from the disputed points.

On the agreement between India and China regarding patrolling on LAC, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said on October 27 that withdrawal of troops is the first step. The next step is to reduce stress. To reduce tension, 38 meetings were held between the two countries in 2 years.

According to the agreement, both the armies have returned to their previous status from April 2020. Armies are now patrolling the same areas where they used to patrol before April 2020. Apart from this, the commander level meeting is still going on.
