In Phagwara, Kapurthala, the car collided with a truck after hitting the side of a tractor trolley. The car driver and NRI son died in the accident, while the mother is seriously injured. The NRI youth was coming home from Australia to meet his family after 10 years.

According to the information, while overtaking a tractor-trolley laden with sugarcane on the flyover on Phagwara Highway on the way from Amritsar Airport to Ludhiana, the speeding car went out of control after hitting the side of the trolley and got hit by the truck coming from behind.
In the accident, NRI Dilpreet Singh died on the spot, while the car driver died during treatment in the civil hospital. City Phagwara police reached the spot after the incident and have started investigation. An FIR has been registered on the statement of Harpreet Singh, father of the deceased youth.
