A state level official of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh i.e. RSS tells Dainik Bhaskar that a proposal for the name of BJP’s next PM candidate may come in the Mahakumbh to be held in Prayagraj. They say that everyone has agreed to the name of Yogi Adityanath. Lok Sabha elections are still far away, so his name will not be announced directly. However, there is full preparation to project them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Prayagraj on 13 December. Here he installed the Kalash for Mahakumbh. During this, the Prime Minister was also accompanied by UP Governor Anandi Ben Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath.
Mahakumbh is scheduled to start from January 13, 2025. 12 years ago in Prayagraj itself, RSS had placed the name of Narendra Modi in front of the saints. After his support, Narendra Modi was made the PM candidate of BJP. Will the same happen for Yogi Adityanath this time, Dainik Bhaskar talked to its sources in RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad on this issue. Read the full report-
Signal from RSS, Yogi Adityanath is the future leader Be it Lok Sabha elections or Assembly elections, Yogi Adityanath’s name is included in the list of star campaigners of BJP. He has held election rallies from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand to Tamil Nadu and Telangana in the South.
The effect of Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Bantenge to Katenge’ slogan was also visible in the Maharashtra Assembly elections held in November. Here he held 11 rallies and sought votes for 17 candidates. Of these, 15 won the elections.
Yogi Adityanath repeated this slogan repeatedly during the by-elections held on 9 seats in UP. After this the same slogan was used in Maharashtra. PM Modi said the same thing in a different way in the rallies held in Thane and Washim on October 5.

RSS officials say, ‘The slogan of ‘Bantenge to Katenge’ may have come from the mouth of Yogi Adityanath, but Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is behind it. This is a very old song sung in RSS shakhas. It has been sung since the time of independence. This song was-
‘History says that whenever Hindu sentiments are forgotten, great calamities occur, brothers are left behind, the earth is lost, religious institutions are destroyed.’
The same thing was said by Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale in the meeting in Mathura. He said that if there will be no unity in the Hindu society, then in today’s language ‘if we divide then we will be divided’.

So will Yogi’s name be approved for PM candidate? We asked some more questions to the RSS official. This time in Kumbh, there will be a discussion about Hindu unity, will any big issue be discussed or any big decision will be taken?
Laughing, he said, ‘We have been discussing this for many years. This has been in our curriculum for a long time. Why discuss this in Kumbh? This time the discussion will be about the one who brought that RSS song back into discussion. There will be discussion as to whose hands the future of the country will be safe. There will be discussion as to who will be the new Sun.
RSS officials say, ‘All this will not happen the way it was when Modi’s name was stamped.’
We asked the meaning of this. He replies, ‘Then there were Lok Sabha elections the next year of Kumbh. Therefore, there could not have been any better time than that event to get a firm seal on the face for the post of PM.
‘Where else would one find such a large scale organization of Hindu society and a gathering of saints and sages? This time there is a gap of 4 years between Kumbh and elections. There will be discussion on the name, but it will be brought as a proposal among all the organizations.
Apart from Yogi, are there any other names in the queue?
The official says, ‘By and large, till now there are only Yogis in the list.’
RSS style to prepare the ground gradually A state level official of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, met in Prayagraj, takes the name of Yogi Adityanath even more strongly. He belongs to Uttarakhand. He says, ‘RSS does not bring anyone forward just like that. The ground is prepared for that. Fertilizer and water are given on the land. First a small sprout sprouts and then a plant. This is the way RSS works.
He further says, ‘If you look at the sequence of events for which you are asking me to confirm the answer, you will get the exact answer. The song sung in RSS shakhas did not come out without any purpose in a new style by being adapted to the times, circumstances and circumstances from the mouth of UP CM Yogi.
Ending the conversation, he said- ‘There will be more discussion when we meet at Kumbh.’
President of Akhara Parishad said – Every time a big decision is taken We asked Ravindra Puri, president of Akhara Parishad and one of the organizers of the Kumbh Mela – Will Yogi Adityanath’s name come for the post of PM this time?
He says, ‘Yogi ji is the strongest pillar of Hindu religion and Sanatan. They are in line. His claim is strong. Amit Shah’s name is also in the queue, but right now Modi ji is very active. It is not right to discuss another candidate while holding the post of PM.
We said- But we have to think about the future, right?
The answer was, ‘Yes, they are thinking.’ There will be discussion, but slogans will not be raised like in 2013.

How Narendra Modi’s name was proposed in the 2013 Kumbh In response to the question, a person associated with RSS tells the whole story. His family has been in RSS for many decades. He says, ‘I am an eyewitness to the process from convincing Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat to bringing the proposal in Narendra Modi’s name and getting it approved. Was in college at that time. My grandfather was the state president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Our family had a lot of connection with Ashok Singhal, who was the head of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
‘Since 2012, Ashok Singhal wanted to get approval in the name of Narendra Modi from Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat. Mohan Bhagwat was not completely sure about his name.
‘After many efforts, Ashok Singhal convinced Mohan Bhagwat in the name of Narendra Modi. After that, Dharma Sansad was held in Kumbh. In that, Mohan Bhagwat had taken the name of Narendra Modi for the post of PM for the first time among Hindu and Sant Samaj.

He says, ‘It was the last day of Dharma Sansad. The date was February 5, 2013. About 10 thousand Dandi Swamis were present. Everyone took Modi’s name using tongs. Slogans were raised in his name. Said that our PM will be Narendra Modi. Then the same slogans were raised among the public also. These people were devotees of saints. This was a plan to bring Narendra Modi’s name as PM candidate among the media and public.

Does the credit for bringing Narendra Modi go to Ashok Singhal and Praveen Togadia?
Got the answer, ‘Ashok goes to Singhal only. Togadia ji did not completely agree with this idea. Although he never expressed his disagreement publicly. Gradually he moved away from the work of the organization and formed a new organization named International Hindu Parishad. Anyway, there was difference of opinion on some things and ideas between Singhal ji and Togadia ji. Singhal ji also never allowed this to come to light.
‘Advani was ahead in the race, but the saints chose Modi’ Akhara Parishad President Ravindra Puri tells the story of Narendra Modi’s name being stamped in the 2013 Kumbh. Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time. Ravindra Puri says, ‘Sant Samaj had started taking the name of Narendra Modi for the PM candidate on different forums since 2010. His name was approved in the Dharma Sansad of Kumbh. All this planning was already in place.
Were there any other names in the race for the post of PM? Ravindra Puri replies, ‘Yes, Lal Krishna Advani was far ahead in the race, but the Sant Samaj believed that Narendra Modi was a staunch Sanatani. Only he can protect Sanatan Dharma. That’s why the saints unanimously chose him.
‘Union chief Mohan Bhagwat did not say anything directly on this proposal. It is definitely said that the words of saints are divine words. Rajnath Singh, then the national president of BJP, said that the spirit of the saints has come to us. No decision other than this can be taken. I will take this proposal to the top.
Ashok Singhal had hinted at Narendra Modi’s name in 2012 RSS sources say, ‘In 2012, Ashok Singhal started hinting at Narendra Modi’s name from many forums. There was a program of Dharma Arpan Raksha Nidhi at Kesar Bhawan, the office of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Prayagraj. In this, funds are raised for the whole year.
‘At that time Ashok Singhal had given a lecture on the future of India. He said…

‘Ashok Singhal was completely confident in the name of Narendra Modi. Kumbh was to be held next year. Ashok Singhal convinced Sant Samaj before RSS and BJP. Even in Kumbh, the name of Narendra Modi was first brought by Sant Samaj.
Saints of Narayani sect had brought Modi’s name among the saints. A saint of Narayani sect had participated in Kumbh. He told the saints on the first day of the Dharma Sansad, ‘I was bathing in the Ganga, suddenly a worry came out of my mind. I asked Mother Ganga, how will India be saved? When I closed my eyes, Narendra Modi’s face appeared.
‘After the saint of Narayani sect, Vasudevanand Shankaracharya was the first to put stamp on the name of Narendra Modi and placed his name in front of the saints.’
Invitation to heads of Hindu sects across the country for Kumbh Kumbh was discussed in the meeting held in Mathura on 25-26 October. According to the source, ‘This time in the Kumbh, it has been agreed to include those sects, sects, castes and tribes of the Hindu society, which till now have not been invited to the Kumbh. At the top of this list is the head of the Lingayat Math.
‘Apart from this there are many tribes. In these, preparations are being made to call the organizations of North-East tribes. Karbi, Jaintia, Deori, Khasi, Kuki and Meitei tribes will be called from North-East.
There is violence going on between Kuki and Meitei in Manipur, still there is a plan to invite them?
‘Yes, there is a dispute, that’s why it is more important. To bring them together. The final list is yet to be prepared. After the Bhoomi Pujan of Kumbh is done, more names will be decided.
‘Lingayat community has a good influence on the politics of South India. They have a lot of influence especially in Karnataka and Maharashtra. On the invitation for Kumbh, Swami Saran Basavalinga of the largest monastery of Lingayat sect in Karnataka says, ‘We have been contacted. A call has come from the Prime Minister’s office. Ram Mandir Trust chief Nritya Gopal Das had also called that you have to come to Kumbh.
So you will be in Kumbh, right?
Swami Saran Basavalinga says, ‘We will think now. There is a lot of fighting in Kumbh. Naga Sadhus come from the Himalayas. They don’t let anyone stay. If they are controlled then they can consider coming.
Have invitations been sent to other monasteries also? The reply received was, ‘Along with Kanchipith Math, Shringeri Math, some other monasteries have also been contacted. Together with these monasteries we will consider what to do. To go or not.

Guru of tribal community will take bath with saints An official of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad team engaged in the preparations for the Kumbh says, ‘Now the tribal community has started taking part in the Kumbh. Especially this society took part in 2019. This time special attention will be given to the tribal community.
‘This community with a population of 10.5 crore will get a separate place in the Kumbh. Tribal communities have their own gurus and saints. He will get attention like other saints. His bath will also be decided along with the saints.
Sources say, ‘Thousands of Sadhvis also come to Kumbh every time. They do not have separate conferences or meetings. This time there will be a conference and address by Sadhvis. His feelings and voice will be given preference.

There will be no Dharma Sansad this time An official of Vishwa Hindu Parishad says, ‘The concept of Dharma Sansad is of VHP. It is planted in Kumbh. She sits when a big decision has to be taken. This time there will be no Dharma Sansad in Kumbh. This time many topics will be discussed and proposals will be made, but no decisions will be taken. Parliament was sitting when the decision on Article 370 and the candidate for the post of PM was taken. Its proposals were made earlier.
‘The meeting of the guiding board will be held on January 24, 2025. Important proposals will be discussed in this. Then he will be brought among the saint community. Saint conference will be held on 25-26 January.
Preparation to bring proposal of Sanatan Board also This time the proposal of Sanatan Board may come in Kumbh. Akhara Parishad President Ravindra Puri says, ‘This proposal will definitely come. The Muslim community had thought about the Waqf Board long ago. No major step was taken to bring Sanatan Dharma on one platform. In a way, the board will be the platform in which Sanatanis will gather. Issues related to Sanatan will be discussed. There will be thoughts about religion and religious places.
