Police said that initially Mayur misled him by saying that his fingers were cut by someone else, but investigation revealed the truth.
In Surat city of Gujarat, a young man cut off four fingers of his left hand to avoid job. According to the police, 32-year-old Mayur Tarapara took this step because he wanted to quit his job as a computer operator in his relative’s diamond company, but was unable to muster the courage to say so.
Police said that first Mayur misled him by saying that his fingers were cut by someone else. But CCTV footage and technical evidence revealed that Mayur himself had committed this act. At present Mayur is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
The young man cut his fingers with a sharp knife.
Mayur told the police – someone made him unconscious and cut off his fingers.
After the incident, Mayur had told the police that on the night of December 8, when he was going to his friend’s house on a bike, he suddenly felt dizzy and fell down on the way. When he regained consciousness, he found that four of his fingers had been cut. She claimed that the incident took place at Vedanta Circle near Amroli Ring Road.
Initially the police thought that the case could be related to black magic, because the young man’s fingers were missing. A case was registered and it was handed over to Surat Crime Branch. Crime Branch investigation found evidence which showed that Mayur himself had cut his fingers.
Police said that Mayur had purchased a sharp knife from Singanpur four days before the incident. On December 8, at around 10 pm, he parked the bike on Amroli Ring Road and cut four fingers of his left hand with a knife. To stop the bleeding, he tied a rope around his elbow. After this, the fingers and knife were kept in a bag and thrown into the drain.
Police found a knife and three fingers in the drain.
Three fingers and knife recovered
During investigation, police recovered three fingers and a knife from the drain. According to the police, Mayur worked in the accounts department of his relative’s firm Anabh James. He took this step so that he would become ineligible for the job of computer operator. Amroli police is further investigating the matter.
