New Year Traffic Advisory: Now only a few hours are left for the New Year to arrive. Within a few hours people will be engrossed in New Year celebrations. Let us tell you that amidst the preparations for New Year celebrations, special instructions have been issued regarding security and traffic arrangements in Delhi-NCR.

Restrictions will remain in force in Delhi’s Connaught Place area from 8 pm tonight till the end of the New Year celebrations. During this time, the police have made strict rules for traffic management, which will be applicable to both private and public vehicles. Giving more information on this, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dhal Singh said that on New Year’s Eve, drunk driving, speeding, bike stunting, careless driving, zig-zag and dangerous driving. Strict action will be taken against activities like driving.

This will be the traffic arrangement in Delhi

1: According to the traffic rules implemented by the police in Delhi-NCR regarding New Year celebrations, Mandi House, Bengali Market, northern end of Ranjit Singh Flyover, Minto Road – Deendayal Upadhyay Marg crossing, RK Ashram Marg – Chitragupt Marg crossing. Vehicles from around major areas like Gol Market, GPO, Kasturba Gandhi Road will not be allowed towards Connaught Place. This means that people passing through these areas will have to use other routes to go in the direction of Connaught Place.

2: No vehicles, except those holding valid passes, will be allowed in the inner, middle or outer circles of Connaught Place on New Year’s Eve.

3: Delhi Police has made arrangements for vehicle parking at some special places for the New Year celebrations. Gol Dak Khana, Rakab Ganj Road behind Akashvani, Patel Chowk, Minto Road and Press Road area on DD Upadhyay Marg, Baroda House to Mandi House on Copernicus Marg, Panchkuian Road on RK Ashram Marg, KG Marg on Copernicus Lane-Ferozeshah Crossing. And motorists have been allowed to park their vehicles at Windsor Place.

4: Delhi Police has adopted a ‘first come, first served’ policy for parking in the Connaught Place area, under which limited parking space will be available. This means that the drivers who reach the parking spot first will get the parking facility, but these spaces will be limited. Police have also warned that if any vehicle is found parked unauthorized, it will be towed and fined.

This will be the arrangement in Noida

1: Before setting out to celebrate New Year in Noida, Noida Police has issued a traffic diversion plan, which is very important to keep in mind. Barricading has been done to streamline the traffic system around major malls and markets like Sector-18, GIP, Garden Galleria, DLF, Center Stage Mall, Modi Mall, Logix, Spectrum, Skyven, Starling, Gaur, Ansal, Venice. Traffic will be diverted in these areas to avoid traffic jams and other problems during the celebrations.

2: Changes have been made in the traffic system for the New Year celebrations in Noida Sector-18, which will come into effect from 3 pm on December 31. Drivers coming here will be able to park their vehicles in the Sector-18 multilevel parking. If you are going to Sector-18 via Atta Peer Chowk, you will be diverted towards multilevel parking via HDFC Bank Cut.

3: At the same time, the road from Nursery Tiraha towards Atta Chowk, Metro Station Sector-18 and from Metro Station Sector-18 towards Atta Peer has been declared as no-parking area. Apart from this, both the cuts leading to Sector-18 before and after the FOB (Foot Over Bridge) located near Gurudwara Sector-18 will be closed.

Traffic diversion due to New Year celebrations in Noida and surrounding areas

1: The traffic going from Tilapata towards Kisan Chowk has been diverted. Now drivers will be able to reach their destination from D Park post via Chauganpur roundabout.

2: Vehicles coming from Ghaziabad towards Noida will be able to reach their destination not through Shahberi and Taj Highway, but through Chhijarasi or Model Town Sector-62.

3: Vehicles going from Greater Noida towards Kisan Chowk Parthala will be diverted by taking left turn from Bisrakh Hanuman Temple via Sorkha Parthala.

4: Drivers coming to these areas near Jagat Farm Pari Chowk and Ansal Mall will be able to park their vehicles in the designated parking areas.

Liquor shops will remain open for longer hours

Gautam Buddh Nagar, which includes Noida and Greater Noida. Special arrangements have been made for liquor shops here on New Year’s Eve. On December 31, liquor shops will remain open from 10 am to 11 pm, which will be an extra hour from the normal time. District Excise Officer Subodh Srivastava informed that during New Year celebrations many people organize parties, especially where liquor is served. Keeping this in mind, the department is providing the facility of one-day license which costs Rs 1,100. This license can be obtained completely online, ensuring the safe and legal consumption of alcohol.
