Bilaspur During investigation, 29.60 quintals of wheat seeds from two cooperative societies were found to be non-standard. These include 14 quintals of wheat seeds from M/s Seva Cooperative Society Mohtara and 15.60 quintals of wheat seeds from M/s Seva Cooperative Society Bartori.

Samples of these seeds were taken and tested at Chhattisgarh State Seed Certification Agency, Farmers Institute, Raipur. These seeds were found non-standard there. PD Hatheshwar, Deputy Director of Agriculture Department, has banned the sale of a lot of 29.60 quintal seeds found to be non-standard. Storage and sale of wheat seeds has been banned in these committees with immediate effect.
