The police have closed the gates of the police station. No one is allowed to go inside.
A blast took place in Islamabad police station at 3.15 am on Tuesday (17 December) in Amritsar, Punjab. After this the police closed the gates of the police station. Police officials have reached the spot and investigation is underway. This is not the first case of blast in police stations of Amritsar.

ACP Jaspal Singh said- ‘There has been no blast. A voice has come, its investigation is going on. Senior officers have come to the spot.
Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had shared a report with the Punjab Police. In which NIA had said that a conspiracy is being hatched to carry out terrorist attacks on police stations in Punjab.
NIA had said in its report that Khalistani terrorists are attacking on the lines of the dead drop model used in 1984. Central security agencies are on alert regarding this. Punjab Police was also asked to remain alert.
Police have also been deployed outside Islamabad post.
There have been blasts in Amritsar before
Blast took place in Majitha police station on 4th December.
On December 4, there was a blast at Majitha police station in Amritsar itself. Due to this, the glass of the windows in the police station were broken. Then the matter of throwing a hand grenade in the police station came to light. However, no police officer confirmed this. On this, DSP of Majitha had said that the tire of a policeman’s bike had burst. Then there was a huge explosion.
Khalistani terrorist Happy Pasiyan was to take the responsibility of this blast. He had written on social media that such action would continue.
After the blast in Majitha police station, police officials had closed the gates of the police station.
Blast in Gurbaksh Chowki on 28th November
On November 28, there was a blast in Gurbaksh Nagar, the old post of Amritsar Police. Here also the matter of throwing hand grenade came to light. Responsibility for this was also taken through a Facebook post. If sources associated with the forensic team of Punjab Police are to be believed, many suspicious things were found at the said place. However, the police did not issue any official statement regarding this either.

An IED was also planted outside Ajnala police station in Amritsar on the night of 23-24 November. However, it did not explode due to a technical fault. Police found this IED in the morning. This IED was also planted by terrorists Happy Pasiyan and Gopi Nawanshahariya. A CCTV video was revealed. In which two youths who came on bike were seen planting IED near the police station and detonator at the gate of the police station.
