According to information, Banga Wadala village was shaken by a blast at night. When people came out of their houses in fear, they came to know that a grenade had been thrown at the police station. After this, sirens of police vehicles kept ringing throughout the night. Just a day before, Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) had attacked Kalanaur police post.

Pro-Khalistan organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) took responsibility for the grenade attack in Banga Wadala at night. At the same time, after the blast that took place at night, forensic investigation is currently going on in the police post and senior officers are constantly taking stock of the situation.

8th attack in 28 days

This is the 8th attack in Punjab in the last 28 days. Out of these, terrorists sitting abroad were successful in carrying out 7 blasts, while one bomb was recovered from Ajnala police station without exploding.

27 November- There was a grenade explosion in a closed police post in Gurbaksh Nagar. This attack also took place in a closed post.

2 December- There was a grenade explosion in Kathgarh police station of SBS Nagar. In this case also, the police had arrested 3 terrorists and weapons were recovered from them.

4 December- When a grenade exploded at Majitha police station, the police refused to accept it as an attack. Police said that the tire of the bike of one of their personnel was burst. However, former MLA of the area Bikram Majithia had described it as a terrorist incident along with photographs of the police station.

13 December- There was a grenade explosion in Aliwal Batala police station. Happy Pasiyan and his associates also took responsibility for this incident. This incident also took place at night.

17 December- Grenade blasted in Islamabad police station. When the news spread in the morning, the Police Commissioner and the local police did not call it a blast, but in the afternoon DGP Punjab himself reached Amritsar and accepted that it was a terrorist incident and a bomb had been detonated.

19 December- A terrorist attack took place on the closed police post Bakshiwala in Gurdaspur district adjacent to the India-Pakistan border of Punjab. Terrorists threw a grenade at an auto seized by the police in some case.

Challenge for security agencies

Responsibility for the attacks in Punjab is being claimed by two major Khalistani organizations, KZF and BKI. Despite the efforts of the police, continuous attacks are becoming a matter of concern. Only Punjab Police is being targeted in all these attacks.
