A rice mill was sealed in Jamtara on Tuesday. Rice was found in sacks from Bangladesh inside the mill and in the truck. Rice and truck have been confiscated. Republic of Bangladesh is written on the sack of rice. Rice was being packed in this same sack in the mill.

Rameshwaram Rice Mill located in Bena, Jamtara is allegedly illegally packing rice in sacks from Republic of Bangladesh. On receiving this information, the Jamtara district administration team conducted a raid.
District Supply Officer Rajshekhar, Block Supply Officer Abishwar Murmu and the team of heavy police force have taken action on the mile. During the raid, rice in Republic of Bangladesh packets was recovered, following which the rice mill has been sealed. A truck has also been seized.
This action of the district administration has been taken to keep a close watch on the illegal rice trade and to stop the supply of adulterated rice in the local market. Police have started investigating the matter and are preparing to take legal action against the concerned meal owner.
Mill owner Sanjay Parshuram told that a businessman from Bardhaman, West Bengal had given the sack to send rice to Bangladesh. Is it a crime to send rice to Bangladesh? There are still several quintals of paddy and rice in the mill, which will be destroyed after sealing.
District Supply Officer Rajshekhar said that action has been taken on the orders of the district administration. Rice has been found in sacks from Bangladesh and the mill has been sealed for investigation.
